While the Friends Pass is available on all platforms, It Takes Two itself isn't cross-platform. This is the same on PC, via both Origin and Steam, with players being able to be invited straight from the main menu. On PlayStation and Xbox Platforms, the second player can search and download the Friends Pass from their respective stores - once downloaded, they can be invited straight to the game.
How does the It Takes Two Friends Pass work?
Instead, only one player needs to purchase a copy of the game, which will, in turn, allow them to invite a friend, who can then play the game at no extra cost. The It Takes Two Friends Pass negates that need.
As It Takes Two is entirely co-operative, traditionally, to play online, two players would need to purchase the game.
